Spread Way Too Thin
Rachel Stivers is the Director of Marketing for Advance Your Reach (AYR). AYR helps entrepreneurs and organizations grow their businesses and spread their messages through public speaking.
Rachel has a marketing role at AYR. She handles all the creative and technical projects herself, including design and content creation, along with all of the admin work for the entire Marketing department.
Rachel was overwhelmed and spread way too thin. She recalls, “We work really fast, so things like my email inbox and small tasks were not being cared for as they should have. Some things were falling through the cracks and others were getting backed-up.”
Returning For Their 6th Great Assistant
Rachel knew she needed someone to take on the minutiae of her day so she could focus her time and attention on managing her team and getting projects moving forward.
She was looking for someone who would become her gatekeeper and who could handle her calendar, travel, email inbox, and coordinate logistics.
In July 2019, Rachel was matched with Great Assistant, Brooke, who has taken on all of this and much more!
“She’s put me at complete ease!”
Rachel describes Brooke as “an amazing human” and has lovingly nicknamed her “Hawkeye” for her outstanding ability to proofread and edit copy.
Rachel used to feel guilty delegating small tasks to her team but Brooke has joyfully taken on the day-to-day minutiae and more. Rachel noted, “She’s put me at complete ease!
“Brooke systematized things and made them better. There has been no task too big or too small that Brooke has not been willing to do. Having her on the team has up-leveled everything that we’ve done and freed up, not just me, but the entire team.”
Rachel added, “Brooke’s also really skilled with photoshop, creating small designs, and posting to social media. She is a total joy and I couldn’t be happier that I chose to work with Great Assistant to find such talent.”
Rachel’s Advice for Anyone Considering a Great Assistant:
“I think one thing that holds people back from hiring an assistant is that they assume they’ll have to spend loads of time training them.
“Everyone we’ve hired from Great Assistant has come in and hit the ground running. Great Assistant trains the hires to take on minutiae using 360 Delegation.
“All of the assistants have been so smart and eager to learn. We actually use 360 Delegation company-wide now because it's such a great tool!”
