I Couldn't Keep Doing It All
Megghan Thompson is the owner and clinical director of Megghan Thompson Coaching and Thompson Child Therapy.
From her brick-and-mortar practice in Maryland, she’s been helping kids, teens, and parents deal with the stressors of life. Every session she’s helping clients deal with daily stressors to avoid tragic outcomes as devastating as suicide.
“For me, it's not about the money, it's about the impact,” reports Megghan.
To expand her impact on the world, in 2018 Megghan launched a nationwide online coaching program.
With both of her businesses growing, Megghan was feeling crushed by her business, struggling to keep up with all aspects, both in her business and on her business.
Megghan recalls, “I couldn’t keep doing it all. I was a private practitioner working in my brick and mortar seeing clients three days a week. I was trying to scale my online business on the side, all while parenting a 2-year-old (alongside) a husband who travels.”
From Working In Her Business to Working On Her Business
Megghan realized she needed to hire someone to take on the minutiae of running her businesses so she could spend more time working on her business, instead of in her business.
She decided to reach out to Great Assistant to help find someone fit for the job. In March 2019, Megghan was matched with her Great Assistant, Stephanie.

“Now that I have a virtual assistant taking phone calls, replying to emails, and billing insurance companies, I’m able to help more people and can continue billing insurance - something I was ready to give up on because of the huge headache it was for me.”
Tripled Clients and Added $10K/month in Revenue
Within the first two months of working with Stephanie, Megghan grew her practice by $10K per month and hired a third clinician just to keep up with demand.
Also, because Stephanie works virtually instead of at a front-desk, Megghan was free to convert the front desk area of her new practice location into another therapy room so she could see even more clients each day. She now has a team of 5 clinicians, grown from a team of 2 clinicians.
She notes, “for me, it's not about the money, it's about the impact - we’ve tripled the number of clients we can serve and I now spend more quality time with my daughter.
“I have more flexibility and greater freedom.”
