Needing An Assistant
Mark McShurley is the co-owner of RoofSimple, which provides residential roofing and exterior remodeling services.
After meeting Tim in 2012 at a Perry Marshall event and then being reintroduced to him more recently at an 80/20 Summit, Mark knew exactly where to go when he needed an assistant.
Trusting the Great Assistant Process
In Spring 2018, Mark was matched with Great Assistant Ashley.
Mark recalls, “Had I come across Ashley on my own, I probably would have missed her as a top candidate - she was somewhat quiet and I would have assumed she was more passive. The Great Assistant program recommended her, and it turns out she’s got incredible drive and is also a high-performing, no-drama teammate.
“Since the beginning, Ashley’s been a great cultural fit with lots of shared values. Working together really easy.”
Delegating Email to His Great Assistant
Mark delegated his busy email inbox right away and reports, “Ashley’s helped me to have a clear head every day and has freed up so much of my time. I’m now able to focus on the business at a higher level.”
As Ashley has continued to grow in her role, she's taken on higher level responsibilities like HR and even manages software for the business.
Mark notes, “I’m not as detailed in my delegation, but Ashley takes a lot of initiative, which is exactly what I need. She’s very proactive and catches things that I would not necessarily be able to catch. She’s invaluable to our team.”
Peace of Mind
“I had this dream of getting back to having a ‘dumbphone’ (a 1999-style flip-phone with no apps) and Ashley has made this possible,” Mark admits.
“I have peace of mind knowing that things are getting taken care of and I’m so excited to be relieved of being glued to my phone.”
Returning For a Second Great Assistant
In Fall 2019, Mark returned to Great Assistant for a second hire.
Mark says, “The Great Assistant Program is by far, the most seamless hiring process I’ve ever had!”
“The Great Assistant Team has great resources for onboarding and setting a great foundation for efficient delegation.”
Mark's Advice To Fellow Entrepreneurs:
“If you’re a busy Entrepreneur, hire the Great Assistant Program and trust their matching process. It’s such a well-oiled machine.
“There’s no way, if I hired someone on my own, I’d find someone with my 'trifecta': it’s really hard to tell if someone is a cultural fit AND motivated AND skilled.
“Somehow the Great Assistant Program has found multiple teammates for us who fit this trifecta. I couldn’t be happier!”
